This clinic serves a small refugee camp located about 35 km south of Goma. It is staffed by nurses and provides a walk in clinic, inpatient ward and obstetrics. The clinic lacks electricity and many every day medical supplies and equipment.

We need Volunteer faculty to help with continuing education for Skilled Midwives and Traditional Birth Attendants . Traditional birth attendants will be trained primarily in new born resuscitation. We train twice per year.

MOTHERHOOD IS A BLESSING BIRTH KIT

Each year, close to one million newborns die from infections, according to the World Health Organization.

 The kits  contain soap, biodegradable plastic bag, a scissor,cord tie, 2 pair of biodegradable gloves,5 gauze squares, 2 alcohol swabs, cap for baby  With these tools, almost anyone can deliver a baby safely.

These items are assembled into a small bag at an Assembly Day. Assembly Day is Fun.

This is Philomene a survivor of Rape. As a result of the Rape Philomene now has a little daughter.
